FEATURED PROJECT |
Dual Kitchen RemodelIn this collaborative project, we helped bring a modern touch to an older home. The homeowners wanted to completely remodel their kitchen but didn't want to be without a kitchen during the remodel. Therefore, we gave them a second one in the basement to turn it into a mother-in-law suite! The basement kitchen has somewhat of a bar feel by spanning the back wall. The dark cabinetry is a contrast with the light color of the main floor kitchen. The main kitchen features some sweet hidden gems like the refrigerator drawer in the island and fully integrated appliances. We love the clean lines and contrasting island in this traditionally styled kitchen. Photos courtesy of Kerry Bern. View more photos on Houzz. |
KAUFMAN PROCESS |
All of our projects go through five phases. For our handyman division, these phases go by quickly but for a full-scale remodel, they expand to have many steps to make sure we have all the details worked out and the process goes smoothly. To give you an idea of how our process works, we will use the scope of work for a shower replacement. Though these projects are relatively small, they still have quite a few design details to manage. Introduction: Who, WhatThe main purpose of this step is to get to know each other and understand what type of project you are planning. Discovery: Where, When, Why Based on your expectations of a contractor and what we have to offer, we will determine if we are a good fit for each other. We will take note of your concerns, get some preliminary photos of the problem area, and build up a partnership to ensure a smooth working relationship. Proposal: Narrowing it down If the first two steps, determine that we could be a good fit, it's time to determine what type of proposal will work best for you to make a decision about working with us. In the example of our shower package, we know the scope of work, so we will be able to propose an estimate. Plan and Design: Build-Ready Design If you agree to move forward, a shower package project will start off with a site measure. These measurements will get used to draw the existing plan in our CAD software. Working with our Design team, you will refine the plan (set the tile layout and niche location), pick all the fixtures and finishes, and we will produce a full set of architectural drawings. Accompanying those drawings will be a final contract with overall pricing. Production: Happy Homeowner As long as we are both on the same page regarding the final documents, we will get the project scheduled and proceed to building your dream! Throughout the building process, you can expect good communication with leads as well as a clean organized work environment. Click here for a more detailed breakdown.
