Devan oversees the marketing, sales, and design team, and communicates the vision for the company. He is responsible for holding the sales & design team accountable for company goals. Additionally, Devan is responsible for gathering parameters and translating them into drawings and schedules. He works with clients through the sales and design process, working closely with the draftsperson and estimator to provide accurate and complete drawings for bid. Devan's hobbies include cooking, fishing, and being a foodie and mixologist (personal bartender). His favorite food is TACOS! If he could go back in time, he would travel to the year 1900. He thinks the period offers just enough convenience to enjoy life, but much simpler than today. Devan can't remember a time when he wasn't interested in architecture, design, and construction. For as long as he can remember, he has been in tune with how he feels when he walks into a room that makes him feel comfortable and inspired. Along with that appreciation came the desire to create spaces that function and feel inspiring.
Tracy runs the handyman division and is responsible for scheduling and setting up all KC Handyman projects. Tracy's first job was working at Burger King. Her number one hobby is spending time at the lake! Her favorite game or sport to watch or play is cross country. She thinks it may be the only sport you actually get a workout "watching." She jokes and tells her daughters they have no idea how hard it is to run AND cheer! If Tracy could spend a week anywhere in the world, she would go to Tahiti.
Tracy and Devan both grew up in Adel, IA, but they didn't really "meet" until Tracy's brother's wedding. They were introduced and have been together ever since! After marrying in 1996, they settled down in Winterset. Winterset has been the perfect town to raise their four daughters. Their oldest, Sydney, joined the Kaufman Construction team full time in 2019 after graduating from Iowa State. Their middle daughter, Riley, is a 1st grade teacher in Mt Ayr. Then, their youngest, the twins, Karsyn and Dyllan, just started their studies up at Iowa State. The Kaufman's have a love for labs with 5 total in their hearts. Nash was the original family dog (pictured here) who has since crossed the rainbow bridge and lives on through the wonderful memories. Since then, four other crazies have been added to the mix. They love them just the same, but Ozlo, Appollo, Gus, and Chesney added more excitement to their lives than they originally planned. The Kaufmans love to spend time at their lake house on the weekends and find it hard to pass up an opportunity to travel.
