FEATURED PROJECT |
CONTEMPORARY CLIVE HOMEThe owners of this Clive home approached us looking for a more contemporary look and feel for their home. Having previously used our handyman and design build services, they were confident in our ability to bring their vision to life. Following the successful remodel of the front entryway, the homeowners decided to revamp the entire main floor. This extensive renovation covered the living room, office, powder room, three-season porch, deck, and kitchen upgrades. The results were stunning, with a powder room sporting vibrant blue tones and playful lighting, a spacious living room featuring a cement fireplace and walnut mantle, elegant office doors, a notable porch ceiling, and an exquisite Ipe deck. Their latest project focused on the master bathroom, which they started planning as the main floor remodel was concluding. The result is a sleek contemporary bathroom featuring a custom-built teak vanity and bench, along with a spacious shower boasting a unique wall drain and quartz bench. |

ASKED & ANSWERED |
I have a valley in my roof that drains water and ice onto my front stoop. I have improved gutters on it but it continues to be an issue. Is there construction that could be done to change my roof line so that there is an overhang on the stoop that drains moisture away from my front entrance? Is this something that you could take a look at and offer suggestions? Lisa S |
Hi Lisa, there is almost always an option to change a roof line to protect doorways, sidewalks, etc., and/or divert water to a better place. The options are always based on the science of geometry, so sometimes they can be rather simple, but other times they aren’t aesthetically appealing or may require quite extensive construction that may even require building over the top of large portions of existing roof. We definitely like to get our creative juices flowing and try to come up with functional, cost effective, and architecturally pleasing options. There can also be options for awnings – some of them pre-built, bolt-on type. |
