The Tour of Remodeled Homes presented by the Remodelers Council of Greater Des Moines is an annual event featuring an array of completed remodeling projects by top professionals in Central Iowa's construction industry.  This year, Kaufman Construction had two homes on the tour.

Home 2

Peckham Street, Johnston

Augmenting a familiar floor plan to transform the space to suit a client’s needs is one of the most gratifying endeavors here at Kaufman Construction. Lori contacted us to maximize her laundry/mudroom/pantry into a space more suitable to her family’s busy lifestyle and include space for crafts.

The two story addition also transforms the familiar kitchen/dinette/great room into a much more spacious and livable plan. Also included in the project are a new deck and inviting new back yard landscape! While it is a gracious addition, maximizing every foot completely transforms the entire living area. Come see what a typical “Des Moines Two-Story” can become.

Home 12

South 33rd Street, West Des Moines

The Howards worked with Kaufman Construction to remodel the kitchen in their previous home. That project went so well that when they moved to a different home and were ready to remodel the kitchen in that home, it was only natural to call us back.

The result is a stunning update to this brick ranch. As the plan developed we decided to swap the dining and kitchen areas and resize windows and add a new patio door. What seems like a relatively simple adjustment to a floor plan actually completely transforms the space and brings the outdoors in so that Steve and DeAnn have wonderfully inviting views of the back yard. The reconfigured space has a warm and refined feel with beautifully coordinated materials such as painted cabinets, quartz countertops and ceramic tile backsplash which are all accented by new lighting fixtures and LED undercabinet lighting.
