All work is completed on a time and material basis and jobs of all sizes are welcome. If requested, design services are also available through Kaufman Construction charged at the standard design/drafting fees.

Rates are as follows:

  • $75 + tax for a service call which includes the first hour of handyman drive time and labor.
  • $55.00 + tax per hour after the first hour or the estimate for all additional Handyman man hours.
  • All hours will be rounded up to the nearest 1/2 hour increment.
  • Material costs and trade contractor labor are billed at cost plus a 20% markup.
  • All material billed at KC Handyman contractor price (not retail) plus applicable markup.
  • Drive time to job site and for material procurement billed at standard hourly rates.
  • $75 + tax per hour for design/drafting time.

Estimates are provided as follows:

  • Estimates are just that – estimates, not “bids”.
  • Estimates are derived from our experience and standards used in the construction company and from a software that uses local averages for pricing labor and materials – NO GUARANTEE OF PRICE IS OFFERED.
  • Many times it is difficult to estimate exactly what the cost of a project is going to be based on a simple visual inspection.
  • Estimates should represent a “middle of the road” outlook on labor and material – they are not provided to be a best or worst case price.
  • If an estimate is provided prior to the project being started and the scope of the project changes significantly due to unforeseen circumstances, the Handyman will stop working in order to inform the primary contact and discuss what the issues are and come to a resolution prior to the work being completed. If an additional estimate is required, one can be provided upon request.

Trade Contractors are used when:

  • The project requires that we complete something that we are not licensed for. KC Handyman can do minor plumbing and electrical work such as replacing a faucet or hanging a light fixture. Plumbing or electrical work for a significant remodeling or new construction project would require the use of a licensed contractor.
  • Working on a large phase of the project can be done less costly by using a trade contractor – example – drywall work or painting a large area.
  • Upon the request of the home or business owner.

About KC Handyman Employees:

  • All of KC Handyman’s handymen are experienced carpenters in many facets of carpentry and have been in construction all of their lives. Hiring a handyman is not an easy task to accomplish as many carpenters focus on a specific phase of construction – framing, trim, etc. KC Handyman looks for and hires employees with a broad range of experience and an interest in doing jobs of all sizes. Our employees have to play many different roles on the job site: designer, manager, bookkeeper and mostly carpenter. That means that not only do we require our employees to be exceptional carpenters but they must also be someone who is detailed, organized and diligent. Customers should expect and receive the same unimpeachable service and quality offered and maintained by Kaufman Construction.
